Opens U.S. Distribution Center
Los Angeles, CA /October 2nd, 2007 – Kumho Electric, Ltd., one of the leading lighting manufacturers in Asia, has opened a Distribution Center and Showroom in Southern California to serve the U.S. market.
Known for its technical innovation, Kumho Electric has pioneered energy-efficient lighting products that set the standard for quality and reliability. It is the largest lighting products company based in Korea and has manufacturing facilities in locations throughout Asia.
While producing a whole line of commercial, industrial and residential lighting products, the company’s initial focus in the U.S. will be on innovative products for commercial, automotive and digital display markets. For office and commercial applications, Kumho Electric’s environmentally friendly lamps provide high energy efficiency but have low levels of mercury. For consumer products incorporating digital displays, Kumho Electric is one of the leading manufacturers of CCFL (cold cathode fluorescent) lamps in the world. Its CCFLs and backlight panels provide the illumination for digital displays ranging from LCD large screen HD-TVs to cell phones.
Lighting industry veteran Alan Medak has been named Director of U.S. Operations for Kumho Electric. Medak has 20 plus years experience in executive, sales and marketing positions in the industry.
